News Saying the NAV 2009 SP1 RTC Supports Native DB have been Withdrawn by Microsoft

I guess the native database is getting the short end of the stick anyway :)Â
Actually, once the C/SIDE code does not any longer need to support the native database, the SETCURRENTKEY statements will become more or less obsolete and the overall performance of the system should improve as the DB engine would be able to choose the best indexes and execution plans freely.
Lovers of the native DB must now realise that this is an end of an era.
The NAV 2009 SP1 is expected in Q3 of 2009 and as the new technology matures, more people will seriously consider upgrading to 2009. One interesting (and pleasantly surprising) feature of the new service pack is that the new RTC will now support the “old” proprietary NAV database.
In my view this shows the strength of the NAV community, as MS has been trying to phase out the proprietary database for many years now, and have given in yet again. Power to the people!
